ISTANBUL, Turkey, March 9 (UPI) -- Turkey is setting up a monetary reward system to aid in capturing members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party, the Interior Ministry revealed.
The ministry said it will pay $2.2 million for information leading to the capture of PKK leader Murat Karayilan or any of his top lieutenants, the Hurriyet Daily News reported Friday.

A reward of $1 million will be offered for lower-level PKK chieftains, the ministry said.
The reward system was proposed following increased bomb attacks by the separatist group, officials said.
The plan has been sent to the prime minister's office for his approval.
The PKK has been designated a terrorist organization by Turkey, the European Union and the United States.
