Report: Israel warned Turkey of attacks

ANKARA, Turkey, March 8 (UPI) -- Israel has warned Turkey that Iranian Revolutionary Guards are planning to attack Israeli diplomatic missions in Turkey, officials said.

Israel's intelligence agency the Mossad informed Turkey's National Intelligence Agency (MIT) of plans by the Iranians to attack Israelis, the Turkish newspaper Hurriyet Daily News said Thursday.

The newspaper quoted a story reported Wednesday on the NTV news channel which said four individuals from Iran had entered Turkey with weapons to be used in the alleged attacks.

Hurriyet said sources at MIT neither confirmed nor denied the report when asked to comment.

In recent months, there have been several attacks on Israelis abroad allegedly orchestrated by Iran. On February 13 an Israeli diplomatic car was bombed in New Delhi and a bomb was discovered attached to an Israeli Embassy employee's car in Tbilisi, Georgia.

In Thailand, several Iranian suspects were arrested after a bomb exploded in a Bangkok residence in what appeared to be a "work accident" while planning a terror attack.
