Bin Laden compound being demolished

ABBOTTABAD, Pakistan, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- The Pakistani compound where Osama bin Laden spent the last years of his life was being torn down Saturday.

Bin Laden was killed last May in a raid by U.S. Navy SEALs on the compound in Abbottabad.

The demolition was being conducted under tight security with the public kept away from the site, CNN reported. Demolition equipment was moved in Saturday.

Dawn News said the roads around the compound were blocked.
