Killer suspect Anders Breivik's dad to be interviewed

PARIS, Feb. 16 (UPI) -- French police have agreed to assist their Norwegian colleagues by interviewing the father of accused mass killer Anders Breivik.

Jens Breivik, an economist and retired diplomat, lives in Cournanel, a small village in the south of France. He has refused to go to Norway or to the Norwegian Embassy in Paris to talk to police, Radio France Internationale reported.

Anders Breivik allegedly killed eight people in a bombing at government offices in Oslo on July 22, 2011, and then gunned down 69, mostly teenagers, at a Labor Party camp on the island of Utoya.

Anders' parents divorced when he was a year old, and Jens Breivik has not seen his son for several years. Norwegian police, however, say he could help build a psychological profile of his son.
