Israeli planes strike Gaza Strip targets

GAZA CITY, Gaza, Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Retaliatory airstrikes by Israel's air force killed one man and injured several others throughout the Gaza Strip, Palestinian officials said Sunday.

A statement by the Israeli military said the planes were sent up late Saturday after a rocket launched from Gaza fell near a home and injured an Israeli woman in the Hof Ashkelon district, the Palestinian Ma'an news agency reported.

The statement said planes targeted a "terror tunnel and a weapon manufacturing facility in the northern Gaza Strip, a terror tunnel in the central Gaza Strip and an additional terror tunnel in the southern Gaza Strip."

Palestinian authorities said a 69-year-old man was killed and two other people were injured in one of the bomb raids on steel sheds in Gaza City.

A house near Khan Younis sustained major damage from a missile, but no one inside was badly injured, the report said.
