U.N.: Libya must investigate deaths

TRIPOLI, Libya, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- The U.N. Support Mission for Libya has called on the transitional government to investigate the deaths of seven people, including three children.

The victims were all internally displaced Libyans driven from their homes by the civil war, the United Nations said Friday. Three of the victims were killed Monday at Janzur Marine Academy near Tripoli and four during a street protest.

The support mission was set up by the United Nations' Security Council in September as the regime of Moammar Gadhafi toppled and about a month before his death. Its goal is to support the National Transitional Council in its effort to establish democracy in Libya.
