LONDON, Feb. 9 (UPI) -- A British judge sentenced nine men to prison for planning to set up a terrorist training camp and bomb the London Stock Exchange.
Four men -- Mohammed Chowdhury, 21, Shah Rahman, 28, Gurukanth Desai, 30, and Abdul Miah, 25 -- who confessed to plotting to plant a homemade bomb in stock exchange bathrooms were each sentenced 12 to 16 years in prison, the International Business Times reported Thursday.
Omar Latif, 28, was sentenced for 10 years and 4 months for attending meetings and intending to help others prepare or commit acts of terrorism.
Mohibur Rahman, 28, was given five years for having copies of an al-Qaida magazine.
Mohammed Shahjahan 27, Usman Khan, 20, and Nazam Hussain, 26, were each given open-ended sentences for planning to set up a terrorist training camp in Pakistan.
The defendants, who were arrested in December 2010, were brought together by radical Islamist groups, the newspaper said.
