Brake problems ground Sarkozy

PARIS, Jan. 18 (UPI) -- A plane carrying French President Nicolas Sarkozy made an emergency landing Tuesday in Toulouse due to a problem with the braking system, officials said.

Sarkozy was on his way to a meeting with agricultural representatives in Ariege, in southern France, when the problem with his Falcon 7X was detected, thelocal.fr reported. The aircraft remained in Toulouse for repairs and another plane was brought in from Paris to return the president home.

The president uses the Falcon for relatively short trips.

He also has an Airbus 330, nicknamed Air Sarko One, that is rumored to have a pizza oven along with more conventional perks like a bedroom, conference room and anti-aircraft missiles, the French news Web site said.
