KIEV, Ukraine, Jan. 11 (UPI) -- A physical examination found ex-Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko in satisfactory health after collapsing last week, a prison official said Wednesday.
Alexander Lisitskov, head of the state Penitentiary Service, reported to Parliament that Tymoshenko needs exercise, the Russian news service ITAR-Tass reported.
Tymoshenko, convicted of corruption charges last year, is being held in a prison in Kharkov. Her trial was seen as political both by her supporters in Ukraine and by critics outside.
Alexander Turchinov, a close political ally, revealed Tuesday that Tymoshenko, 51, collapsed Friday after she was given medication and remained unconscious for 2 hours. Lisitskov said after that incident she was given a complete physical examination.
Opposition members in Parliament asked Lisitskov to provide video footage of Tymoshenko in prison. Turchinov said she is kept under observation but the videotape is not kept.
