Canadian, searching for ex, finds 3 bodies

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Jan. 7 (UPI) -- A Canadian man says when he went to Mexico to help find his ex-wife, he not only found her body but two others.

Jacy Wright of Vancouver told the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. he and a friend flew to Huatulco, Mexico, last week after learning Ximena Osegueda, a 39-year-old University of British Columbia student, had disappeared in mid-December along with her boyfriend, Alejandro Alvarado, 38.

Wright, who was married to Osegueda for 12 years and had remained friends with her since their divorce, told the CBC Friday he and a friend had only been searching for a few hours at a secluded beach near where she was last known to have been when he found a body in a black plastic bag. It wasn't Osegueda but it was a homicide victim, he said.

Two days later, Wright, searching with Osegueda's brother, found two more bodies that turned out to be these of Osegueda and Alvarado.

"Her hands were tied behind her back. She was on her knees and had been killed with a knife. Stabbed through the jugular," Wright said.

He added people who live in the area told him the beach was a drop-off point for drugs and dumping ground for victims of drug violence.

"Over the course of three days, I found three bodies over 6 hours of looking. That tells me there's a lot more bodies," he said.
