Violent 24 hours see at least 7 deaths

BAGHDAD, Dec. 13 (UPI) -- Attacks targeting judges, security forces and liquor stores in a 24-hour period resulted in at least seven people dying in Iraq, police said.

In Fallujah, gunmen attacked a minibus carrying Justice Ministry officials and wounded six people, including three judges, CNN reported Tuesday. When police arrived at the scene, two roadside bombs detonated, killing four people, including three police officers.

In Mosul, police Lt. Col. Ayad Mohammed was shot and killed by gunmen as he was about to leave his house for work Tuesday, Mosul police told CNN.

In Baghdad, two Iraqi Interior Ministry officials were assassinated in separate incidents Monday, Baghdad police said.

Gunmen also fired on three liquor stores Monday, wounding five people.

The United States is pulling out its troops by the end of the year under a bilateral agreement with Iraq.
