BANGKOK, Dec. 13 (UPI) -- An anti-tank mine exploded during a mine-clearing operation along Thailand's border with Cambodia killing three Thai soldiers, authorities said.
Another soldier was injured in the explosion near Ban Khao Din in Sa Kaeo's Khlong Hat district, the Bangkok Post reported.
The soldiers were part of an eight-member mine-clearing team of the Burapa Task Force.
The dead were identified as Lt. Krisna Yapila, the team leader, Master Sgt. Kong-anan Boon-aram and Sgt. Pichit Wongbo.
The wounded man, Sgt. Maj. Sithichai Wongcharoen, was taken to a military hospital in the Aranyaprathet district.
The Chinese-made anti-tank mine was one of many planted along the border years ago during fighting between warring factions in Cambodia, the Post said.
