Couple tried to hide drugs in son's mouth

KRASNOYARSK, Russia, Dec. 13 (UPI) -- Police in Russia say they arrested a married couple who allegedly tried to hide a bag of heroin in their 9-year-old son's mouth.

Authorities in Krasnoyarsk, Siberia, say a police patrol spotted a parked car with a man, a woman and the boy inside, and when the adults saw the police they became nervous and the woman put a gray package into the boy's mouth, RIA Novosti reported Tuesday.

She then opened the door and threw another package out onto the road, police said, which later proved to contain 5 grams of heroin.

The couple face charges that include illegal acquisition, storage, transit, production and processing of narcotic substances.

If convicted, they could serve up to three years in prison, RIA Novosti said.
