Israel hits 2 Gaza targets

JERUSALEM, Nov. 27 (UPI) -- The Israeli Air Force struck two terror targets in southern and central Gaza early Sunday in answer to a rocket that was fired at Israel, the Israeli army said.

No one was injured but damages were reported as a result of the missiles that hit an open area of the Nusseirat refugee camp in central Gaza and greenhouses in Khan Younis, southern Gaza, the Palestinian Ma'an news agency said.

A Qassam rocket fired from Gaza exploded in the Eshkol region in southern Israel Saturday, which caused no injuries or damage, the army said.

While visiting a Golani Brigade base last week, Israeli Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz warned the army is ready to launch an operation in Gaza to protect Israeli citizens from the rocket threat if forced to do so.

"If we don't have a choice, we will know how to operate in Gaza and when that happens we will initiate and orderly and painful operation," Gantz told Israel Radio.
