SKELLEFTEA, Sweden, Nov. 22 (UPI) -- Two members of the local youth wing of Sweden's Moderate Party have been booted out for posting a picture of themselves doing a Nazi salute, the party said.
Andreas Lowenhook, chair of the Skelleftea Moderates, told Sweden's The Local the picture was posted last spring on the personal blog of an 18-year-old female party member.
The woman, along with a male party member, can be seen standing in front of a German flag in a pose that appears to be a Nazi salute.
A local police officer recognized the woman and she was subsequently charged with hate speech.
"I don't have any racist views at all and if someone got the impression I did, I apologize, because that's absolutely not the case," the woman wrote on her blog after the incident.
She told police they were just doing a morning workout.
Skelleftea is in northern Sweden.
