Drone strike kills six suspected militants

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Six militants died Tuesday in a suspected U.S. drone strike in Miran Shah in Pakistan's North Waziristan tribal region, Pakistani intelligence officials said.

The missiles fired from the drone struck a militant hideout in the area, killing the suspected terrorists, the officials told CNN. The region is near the border with Afghanistan.

U.S. officials say Pakistan's tribal regions are used as havens by the Taliban and al-Qaida militants to launch attacks on U.S. and NATO forces across the border in Afghanistan.
