MOSCOW, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Russia has decided to give $7 million in humanitarian aid to Libya, an official said.
Foreign Ministry's spokesman Alexander Lukashevich announced the plan to distribute aid to Libya Thursday, The Moscow Times reported.
The aid will be given to Libya through non-government organizations -- $2 million will to to agricultural aid, $2 million to healthcare, $2 million to humanitarian goods and $1 million will be donated to the U.N. Children's Fund.
The United Nations was planning to stop humanitarian aid to Libya beginning in November, as Libya was expected to take care of humanitarian aid by itself, said the head of U.N. humanitarian operations in Libya, Panos Moumtzis.
