ISTANBUL, Turkey, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Rescuers pulled a 13-year-old boy from rubble in Turkey Friday, more than five days after a 7.2-magnitude earthquake that left 570 people dead, officials said.

Serhat Tokay was only slightly injured. He was pulled from the ruins of a building in Ercis in eastern Turkey, reports said.

The teen asked for food and water after search teams pulled him from the rubble around 2 a.m., local time, NTV news television reported.

Authorities warned residents not to attempt to enter damaged buildings, and about 300 constructions specialists conducted a preliminary inspection to mark damaged buildings, The New York Times said.

More than 1,000 aftershocks have been registered since the Sunday earthquake.

Meanwhile, aid from other countries continued pouring in.

Azerbaijan sent a rescue team of 140 workers and supplies including tents, blankets and generators, the Disaster Crisis Center said. France, Italy, Russia, Kazakhstan and Ukraine donated hundreds of tents.

Turkey initially turned down offers of assistance from dozens of countries but as the needs for shelter and supplies mounted, it reversed that decision.
