Father-in-law spills Bruni's due date

PARIS, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- French first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy is due to give birth Oct. 3, President Nicolas Sarkozy's father told a German newspaper.

Pal Sarkozy, who leaked the story of her pregnancy to the tabloid Bild last May, told the newspaper the baby could be born on the anniversary of Germany's reunification.

The 83-year-old Sarkozy said his grandchild would be baptized in the Roman Catholic Church.

The newspaper said Bruni-Sarkozy told students last week she is anxious to be able to smoke and drink wine again once the baby is born, The Local reported

This will be her second child. She has a 10-year-old son with philosopher Raphael Enthoven. Sarkozy has three children from his two previous marriages.
