JERUSALEM, Sept. 22 (UPI) -- Israeli officials say right-wing activist Meir Ettinger is barred from entering the West Bank for three months for holding illegal self-defense classes.
Ettinger, the grandson of former right-wing leader Meir Kahane, has encouraged settlers to defend their illegal outposts, Haaretz reported Thursday.
Officials say they fear there will be clashes between settlers and Palestinians in coming weeks.
Twelve other settlers have also been barred from the West Bank.
"There is real concern about the potential for more violence," a senior security official told The Jerusalem Post. "The orders are issued after careful scrutiny and a comprehensive legal review."
