3 killed in PKK clash

ISTANBUL, Turkey, Sept. 22 (UPI) -- A soldier and two village guards were killed Wednesday in southeastern Turkey in a clash between security forces and outlawed Kurdish rebels, a report said.

Dogan News Agency said security forces were patrolling the Cantak district of Van when they encountered members of the Kurdistan Workers Party or PKK.

Two guards were also wounded in the armed battle, the news service said.
