JOHANNESBURG, South Africa, Sept. 12 (UPI) -- An African National Congress youth leader has been found guilty of hate speech in South Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg.
Judge Colin Lamont ruled Monday that Julius Malema's singing of the song "Dubul' ibhunu" which contains the line "shoot the white farmer," was damaging towards white Afrikaners or Afrikaans farmers, The South African Star reported.
Lamont ordered Malema to pay some of the costs of the case.
Meanwhile, Malema is still fighting disciplinary charges from the ANC for dishonoring the party, Radio France Internationale reported.
The ANC's national disciplinary panel brought charges on Malema related to his support for regime change in Botswana and for openly criticizing South African President Jacob Zuma.
The three day hearing, that began Sunday, was postponed Monday so Malema could appear in court the ruling in his hate-speech trial.
Malema faces expulsion or suspension from the party if the disciplinary panel rules against him.
