YouTube 'game' ends with teen in hospital

TROLLHATTAN, Sweden, Sept. 4 (UPI) -- A 14-year-old Swedish boy was sent to the hospital after his classmates doused him in a flammable liquid and lit a match as part of a "game," police say.

The incident happened during school in Trollhattan Friday, the Swedish news agency TT reported.

Other students witnessed the game and everything was filmed to be put on to YouTube.

"This is probably a fairly unique game. We can conclude that it ended very badly, but it hasn't happened against anyone's will," said Rickard Lejon of Trollhattan's internal command.

"My guess is that someone was chosen to undergo this experiment, if that's the right word. And someone else chosen to film, and another to strike a match."

"We haven't made any arrests, but we do know a couple of people. We're being very careful in this case, as we're dealing with young people."

Police have yet to question witnesses or those involved.

"But it'll be interesting to hear what they were thinking. I assume they were unable to predict what was going to happen," Lejon told TT.

Police have classified the incident as aggrieved assault.

The boy was taken to the hospital with severe burns.
