Islam Zeb, a senior administrator in Bajaur Agency, told CNN Friday the youths had been on an outing and were walking to a picnic area along a river to mark the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

Elders were meeting to discuss how to recover the youths, Zeb said.

Zeb said members of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan had told relatives they were holding the youths.

Geo News said the captors have moved the youths to an undisclosed location.
