Suicide bombing in Algeria kills 25

CHERCHELL, Algeria, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- A second suicide bombing within a few weeks in Algeria killed 25 and injured more than 35 at a military school in Cherchell, officials said.

Ennahar Algerian TV reported Saturday that the suicide mission involved two terrorists Friday.

The attack was similar to an attack on the Bordj Menail police center in the province of Boumerdes, in which a pedestrian suicide bomber blew himself up and the blast was followed moments later by a second suicide bomber on a motorcycle.

The strategy aims at increasing the number of victims, Ennahar said.

Friday's attack occurred at 7:30 p.m., just after breaking the Ramadan fast at the entrance to a dining area.

Increased security measures prevented the terrorists from penetrating deeper into the military school, causing the suicide bombers to attack the mess hall, which has an entrance that leads to a main road.

The wounded were taken to nearby hospitals.
