ISMIR, Turkey, Aug. 22 (UPI) -- A Turkish teen who admitted to stabbing two British women to death said he did so because one of them refused to let him marry her daughter, authorities said.
Recep Cetin, 17, told police he acted out of revenge, The Sun of Britain reported Monday.
The youth said one of the victims, Marion Graham, refused to let him marry her daughter Shannon, 15, whom he had dated for two years, the report said.
Cetin, a waiter and bodybuilder, admitted stabbing Graham and her friend Kathy Dinsmore, both 53, in a remote forest near the Turkish port city of Izmir.
He told police the women "prevented his dream of marrying Shannon," Today's Zaman reported.
Graham and her daughter, of County Down in Northern Ireland, spent the summer months in Turkey, where they shared a villa with Dinsmore and Cetin.
Neighbors told police the group could regularly be heard arguing.
