Mayor of Russian town shot to death

SERGIEV POSAD, Russia, Aug. 22 (UPI) -- The mayor of Sergiev Posad, Russia, was killed by a gunshot to his head Monday, officials say.

Yevgeny Dushko, who was elected mayor of the town near Moscow in April, was killed as he got into his car to go to work, RIA Novosti reported.

The identity of the gunman was not immediately determined.

"The investigation is considering all possible scenarios for the murder," Russian Investigative Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin said.
