UMEA, Sweden, Aug. 11 (UPI) -- The parents of an 8-year-old Swedish boy say they were shocked to find a swastika tattoo in the fast-food meal they purchased for their son Eddie.
"We couldn't believe our eyes," said Malin Hagglund, Eddie's mother. "I didn't know whether to laugh or cry."
The swastika was included in a group of temporary tattoos in a meal Hagglund purchased at a Frasses restaurant in Umea, in northern Sweden, earlier this week, the Swedish news agency TT reported.
"Eddie is a huge fan of tattoos, but we thought this was a very strange tattoo for a child and that it was wrong of the shop to buy in this product," Hagglund said.
The restaurant expressed regret over the incident, but offered no further comment, other than to say they believed the product was imported from China and the swastika was included as a mistake.
The swastika is commonly associated with the Nazi party in Germany. It is now outlawed in Germany if it is used as a symbol of neo-Nazism, TT reported.
