Settlers offer West Bank tours

JERUSALEM, July 28 (UPI) -- An Israeli non-profit organization formed by West Bank settlers is offering subsidized tours of settlements and heritage sites to the Israeli public.

The organization, Mishkefet (Binoculars), has invested $2 million in the project aimed at secular Israelis who do not visit West Bank settlements, Haaretz said Thursday.

The tours will offer visits to historical and national Jewish heritage sites, farms and agricultural projects, the newspaper said.

"The biggest enemy of settlement, and in ... Israeli society, is ignorance. No one arrives in Judea and Samaria, and sees the settlements that are blossoming there, and remains indifferent," Yossi Dagan one of the co-founders of Mishkefet told the paper.

The organization hopes the tours will attract 500,000 visitors who will pay approximately $13.40 for a tour, with the remainder of costs subsidized by donations to the organization.
