NEW DELHI, July 26 (UPI) -- Terrorism would again top the agenda in the New Delhi talks between the foreign secretaries of India and Pakistan, government sources told The Times of India.
The meeting between India's Nirupama Rao and Pakistan's Salman Bashir would draw up the agenda for Wednesday's meeting between Indian External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna and Hina Rabbani Khar, 33, the just-appointed Pakistani foreign minister who is the youngest person to hold that post.
India has put terrorism as the main issue to be resolved between the two countries, especially since the deadly November 2008 terror attacks in Mumbai, which India says were masterminded by terror groups in Pakistan. Since then, talks between the two sides have made little headway as the Mumbai attacks, in which 166 people died, remain unresolved.
Indian Home Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram said this week India cannot take its "eyes off the ball" over the Mumbai attacks as Pakistan has "done very little" to bring those responsible to justice, the Times reported.
Pakistan's Dawn newspaper reported not much can be expected from the foreign ministers meeting other than a countersigning ritual on the modest progress made at preceding rounds among their officials.
The report said Khar and Krishna could be expected to announce Kashmir-related confidence-building measures for expanding trade and travel across their Line of Control.
