Hackers claim to have News Corp. e-mails

LONDON, July 19 (UPI) -- The anonymous hacker group LulzSec said Tuesday it has gained access to internal News International e-mails and will publish them.

The group penetrated the Rupert Murdoch media empire's systems Monday and hijacked The Sun's tabloid's site to post a fake story of Murdoch's death, reported The Register, a technology journal.

LulzSec also redirected visitors to the main News International site to the its Twitter feed, where a member of the collective called Sabu said it has e-mails of News International employees that it will release later Tuesday.

Sabu also revealed the e-mail login of Rebekah Brooks, a central figure in the News of the World phone-hacking scandal who quit as News International chief executive and has been arrested.

LulzSec says Brooks used the password 63000, which is the same number as a text tip-off line used by the Sun.
