TEL AVIV, Israel, July 8 (UPI) -- Activists, including two Americans, participating in a pro-Palestinian fly-in were barred from entering Israel, officials said.
Activists also were barred from boarding Israel-bound flights throughout Europe after Israel distributed a list of passengers labeled "pro-Palestinian radicals," Haaretz reported Friday.
Israeli officials said they believe most of the activists were prevented from leaving international airports after the Transportation Ministry issued to foreign airlines a list of 300 people blacklisted by Israel.
Two U.S. citizens were refused entrance into Israel after landing in Ben-Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv and were sent on an outbound flight back to Greece, Israeli officials said.
Israeli Public Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch said Friday despite blocking hundreds of pro-Palestinian activists from entering Israel, a "wave is still ahead of us," The Jerusalem Post reported.
"We're not taking any chances," Aharonovitch said.
At least four pro-Palestinian activists were arrested outside the Tel Aviv airport Friday after they caused disruptions while waiting for "flightilla" activists, police said.
