KABUL, Afghanistan, July 7 (UPI) -- An Afghan official says eight children and three women were killed when NATO-led forces bombarded houses in Khost Province in eastern Afghanistan.
NATO's International Security Assistance Force didn't comment on those allegations, but said it is investigating claims of civilian casualties in an airstrike aimed at an insurgent in Ghanzi province, in southeastern Afghanistan, CNN reported.
Foreign relations chief Arifullah Pashton said hundreds of people in Khost province's Domandera district, where the women and children were allegedly killed, demonstrated against NATO and the United States Thursday, chanting "Death to the United States" and "Death to NATO."
Civilian casualties in the war have generated grass-roots anger toward combatants and the ISAF has been working for years to reduce collateral damage, the report said.
