BEIRUT, Lebanon, July 3 (UPI) -- Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah says four members of his group were unjustly accused in the assassination of statesman Rafik Hariri.
"The four men have been unjustly accused," Nasrallah said in a Daily Star report in Beirut.
Speaking on Hezbollah's al-Manar Television, Nasrallah said the four were victims of a biased court intended to hurt the image of "the anti-Israeli resistance."
"[Those indicted] brothers of the resistance have a proud legacy in fighting the Israeli occupation in Lebanon," Nasrallah said.
A U.N. court said the four are responsible for the bombing death of Hariri in 2005. Hariri twice served as prime minister of Lebanon.
Nasrallah called the U.N. court a "U.S.-Israeli project."
"The most dangerous objective of the court is to instigate strife, a civil war or a Sunni-Shiite conflict in Lebanon," Nasrallah said.
