CAIRO, June 25 (UPI) -- Supporters of ousted Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak gathered in a Cairo square, protesting his arrest on corruption charges.
A demonstration Friday in Mostafa Mahmoud Square was publicized on Facebook, al-Masry al-Youm reported. Organizers called it a "third revolution, a revolution of anger by Mubarak's children," a reference to a "second revolution" demonstration held by Mubarak opponents in Tahrir Square a few weeks ago.
By the end of the evening, dozens of people had been hurt in fighting between the pro- and anti-Mubarak sides, ITAR-Tass reported, citing the MENA news agency.
Mostafa Mahmoud Square was the staging ground on Feb. 11 for an attack on the demonstrators in Tahrir Square. Pro-Mubarak forces, many of them on camels or horses, rode down the protesters.
While the crowd was small Friday, its members were dedicated. They gathered under large posters of Mubarak.
"Leave our father alone, that's enough, you've made our lives hell," one poster said.
Protesters blamed Mubarak's overthrow on some combination of Israel, Iran, the Muslim Brotherhood and former U.N. nuclear negotiator Mohamed ElBaradei, who may be a candidate for president of Egypt.
