KABUL, Afghanistan, June 24 (UPI) -- United States talks with the Afghan Taliban have been "very preliminary," Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said at a U.S. Senate hearing.
Clinton said the talks are necessary and she credited President Barack Obama's aggressive military strategy for making them possible, The Washington Post reported.
