RAMALLAH, West Bank, May 22 (UPI) -- A Palestinian group Sunday said more protests were being planned along Israel's borders and warned it is "just the beginning."
A Palestinian committee said it was organizing mass protests June 5 to coincide with the 44th anniversary of the Six Days War, Ma'an news agency said.
The committee called for peaceful marches next month "to the borders of historic Palestine," the news agency said.
The Six Days War -- June 5 to June 10, 1967 -- was fought between Israel and Egypt, Jordan and Syria.
The outcome resulted in Israel taking control of the Gaza Strip, the Sinai Peninsula, the West Bank and East Jerusalem and the Golan Heights.
"The Israeli occupation should remain on alert because rallies will not stop until Palestinian refugees return to Haifa, Al-Majdal, Bi'r As-Sab and all occupied Palestinian towns," a statement issued by the committee said.
The committee organized the Nakba Day protests on May 15 at Israel's borders with Syria, Lebanon and Gaza, which resulted in the deaths of 14 protesters and scores of injuries. Palestinians mark Nakba Day each year to protest the establishment of the state of Israel.
