29 narco gang members arrested in Colombia

BOGOTA, May 18 (UPI) -- Colombian officials took a blow to the structure of drug gangs, arresting alleged members of drug trafficking organizations in two raids, officials said.

Colombia's Prosecutor General's Technical Investigation Team arrested as many as 29 alleged criminals in Bogota wanted for extradition to the United States, El Espectador reported Wednesday.

No names have been released.

Reports said the accused will were to appear before a Bogota judge Wednesday.

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration might have been involved in the operations, officials said.
