BAGHDAD, May 10 (UPI) -- An Iraqi politician narrowly escaped injury when a roadside bomb exploded in Baghdad Tuesday, police said.
Yassin Mostafa al-Janabi, member of the Baghdad Provincial Council, was unhurt in the blast but his bodyguard and a passerby were injured.
Kuwait's KUNA news agency said the bomb went off as al-Janabi's vehicle traveled through the city's western Ameriyah district.
Another roadside bombing Tuesday killed the manager of a cement factory.
