BOGOTA, April 25 (UPI) -- Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos will investigate the judge who ordered the early release of a revolutionary armed forces FARC member, officials said.

The alleged right-hand man of FARC commander Mono Jojoy, Jose Marvel Zamora Perez, was released Friday after a judge ruled there had been procedural errors in his arrest, Caracol Radio reported.

The judge ruled Perez was not properly notified on his arrest charges, which is obligatory under Colombian law.

Santos rejected the judge's decision and said while there are a few "bad apples," they must not be allowed to overshadow the work of justice.

Perez was arrested in October 2008 and convicted of rebellion, aggravated homicide and kidnapping.

The FARC member was rearrested Sunday after a prosecutor filed a new warrant that was carried out in Bucaramanga, where he has since been transferred under tight security.
