U.N.'s Ban Ki-moon in Moscow for talks

MOSCOW, April 22 (UPI) -- United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon was in Moscow to discuss security, terrorism and other topics with Russian leaders, officials said.

The U.N. chief was scheduled to meet with Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov Friday on the second day of a three-day visit. He earlier visited the Czech Republic, Hungary and Ukraine.

RIA Novosti said Ban and Lavrov would discuss international security, the global economy and anti-terrorist efforts, among other things.

"We will certainly be ready to discuss our further cooperation in economic development, particularly in Europe and Eurasia," Lavrov said.

Ban was scheduled to meet with President Dmitry Medvedev later Friday.
