Earthquake rumbles in Vera Cruz, Mexico

MEXICO CITY, April 7 (UPI) -- A 6.5-magnitude earthquake struck near the Vera Cruz region of Mexico, with tremors felt 366 miles away in Mexico City, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The quake, at a depth of 104 miles, was about 35 miles from Las Choapas, and about 49 miles from both Agua Dulce and Huimanguillo, the USGS said Thursday.

There were no initial reports of damages, EarthquakeReport.com said.
