MOSCOW, April 6 (UPI) -- A pilot who ejected from his aircraft as it crashed Wednesday was hospitalized in satisfactory condition in Russia's Far East, the Defense Ministry said.
A ministry spokesman said the pilot ejected before the Russian Su-27 Flanker combat aircraft crashed in the village of Solovei Klyuch during a training exercise, RIA Novosti reported.

No one on the ground was injured, officials said.
A commission appointed to investigate the cause of the accident is at the scene near Vladivostok, the official said.
