Shootings, bombs kill at least 10 in Iraq

BAGHDAD, March 28 (UPI) -- Incidents of violence across Iraq killed at least 10 people -- including seven in one house -- and injured several others, police said Monday.

Gunmen raided a house during the overnight hours, killing six women and one man, officials told al-Sumaria.

A roadside bomb in the central Iraq city of Hilla killed an Iraqi military officer and wounded a soldier.

In western Baghdad, two people died as their bomb-rigged car detonated, police said.

Two policemen were injured when their patrol in central Baghdad was hit by a bomb, security officials said.

In eastern Baghdad, police reported two explosives experts were wounded as they were disabling an explosive, al-Sumaria reported.

Officials said Diyala Police Major Ali Hassan escaped an assassination attempt in Baquba.

Kirkuk police reported an unknown number of injuries when Arab, Kurdish and Turkman students clashed.
