Amanda Knox tries to block docudrama

PERUGIA, Italy, March 24 (UPI) -- The young U.S. woman convicted of killing her housemate in Italy asked an Italian court Thursday to block Internet distribution of a docudrama.

"Amanda Knox: Murder on Trial in Italy" has already been shown on the Lifetime channel in the United States. The movie can be downloaded online and is also available on DVD.

Knox appeared in a civil court in Perugia, the Italian news agency ANSA reported. She said she had seen a trailer for the movie in prison.

''I'm devastated by this invasion into my life and the way I'm being exploited,'' she told the court. ''I consider it the pinnacle of the repeated violations by the media against my person, my personality and my story."

Knox was a student at the University of Washington and spending a year in Perugia when she was arrested. She and her former boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, were convicted of killing Meredith Kercher, a British student, during a drug-fueled sexual attack.

Both are appealing, saying the killing was the work only of Rudy Guede, an immigrant from Ivory Coast who was also convicted.
