Students sent home for painting swastika

KFAR SABA, Israel, March 8 (UPI) -- Twenty Israeli students were sent home early from a school trip for refusing to tell who painted a swastika on a classmate's forehead, school officials said.

The 20 high school seniors from Kfar Saba would not identify the swastika artist or the student who painted an Adolph Hitler mustache on another student, Israel's Ynetnews.com reported.

"We just got a little silly during the night and two seniors drew on another senior," one of the students involved said. "It was just students fooling around on their last annual school trip, nothing more."

A spokesman for Israel's Education Ministry said school management found the incident to be very serious and a meeting would be held to consider further disciplinary action against the students.

Parents of the students said they were furious at the decision to send them home early.

Kfar Saba is east of Tel Aviv in central Israel.
