JOHANNESBURG, South Africa, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- Former South African President Nelson Mandela is doing well after last month's health scare, daughter Zindzi Mandela-Hlongwane said.

Mandela was briefly hospitalized last month with a respiratory infection, but the 92-year-old former president is doing "very well" now, his daughter told The Guardian.

Mandela has returned to his home in Johannesburg where he continues to receive treatment.

Referring to Mandela by his clan name, South African President Jacob Zuma said during his state of the nation address to Parliament Thursday, "We want to assure the nation that Madiba is receiving very good medical care and is comfortable."

"We need to accept the reality that President Mandela, who is loved by all of us, young and old, men and women, black and white, is not young any more," Zuma said. "He will, from time to time, visit medical facilities for checkups, which is normal for a person of his age."

Zindzi said her father remains an avid boxing fan.

"My father is still very much aware of who the fighters are," Zindzi said. "He still loves the sport with a passion."
