Palestinian medics discovered the bodies of the two Palestinians early Thursday, the Ma'an News Agency said.

Palestinians in Gaza fired a mortar shell that landed in an open area in the western Negev desert, the army said. No injuries or damage were reported.

The Jihad Jibril Brigades affiliated with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine claimed responsibility for the mortar attack, the Palestinian news agency said. A statement released by the group vowed to continue its resistance against Israel.
