Israeli police find U.S. tourist's body

JERUSALEM, Dec. 19 (UPI) -- The body of an American tourist was found outside of Jerusalem Sunday, a day after her friend said they had been attacked by two Arabs, police officials said.

Israeli police discovered Christine Logan's body in the bushes near the highway between Beit Shemesh and Moshav Mata, located approximately 12 miles west of Jerusalem early Sunday morning, Israel Radio said.

Police imposed a gag order on the entire investigation, the radio report said.

Police, border police and military forces Saturday launched a manhunt for Logan in the Beit Shemesh-Jerusalem area, after they were alerted to the attack by British-born Kaye Susan Wilson, who was found stabbed and her hands bound, the radio reported.

Wilson told Ynetnews.com they were walking on a path when they were approached by two Arabs who asked them for water. The two men left the site and she and Logan headed back.

"Suddenly I heard a noise. It happened so quickly -- they came and attacked us. One of them pulled out a very long knife -- like a bread knife with a sharpened edge," she said. "One of them took the Star of David necklace off my neck like a gentleman, and then stabbed me 12 times. They came to kill. Nobody walks around with a knife like that for no reason," she said.
