16 in Pakistan wedding party die in crash

SWAT, Pakistan, Dec. 5 (UPI) -- Sixteen people were killed and 42 injured when a bus carrying a wedding party plunged off a road in northwest Pakistan Sunday, authorities said.

Swat district police told Geo News the bus was taking a family from Mingiora to Mallam Jabba to attend a wedding. The driver lost control while making a sharp turn on a mountain road at Speenay Obba village.

The dead included five women and three children.

Police and neighbors took the injured to Saidu Sharif hospital for treatment.
